CFP: Punk Sound, Due 9/15/16

NO, SOUND!

Ironically, perhaps the least understood element of this thing called “punk” is its sound. We’re looking for short essays (~1500 words) that engage with the meanings, affects, histories, definitions, and cultural implications of “punk” sound. Your writing (or sounding!) can be personal, critical, historical, academic-y, or an iconoclastic mix of all of those–Sounding Out! is basically a punk zine on the internet. 250 word pitches are due to Aaron Trammell (mobilestudios@gmail.com) by September 15, and will be published in a special series this November, so make sure you have time for edits in October.
