Priscilla Peña Ovalle
Priscilla Peña Ovalle teaches Film and Media Studies in the English Department at the University of Oregon. After studying film and interactive media production at Emerson College, she received her PhD from the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television while collaborating with the Labyrinth Project at the Annenberg Center for Communication. Her most recent publications include Dance and the Hollywood Latina: Race, Sex, and Stardom(Rutgers University Press, 2011),”Synesthetic Sabor: Translation and Popular Knowledge in ‘American Sabor'” (American Quarterly, 2009), and “Urban Sensualidad: Jennifer Lopez, Flashdance and the MTV Hip-Hop Re-Generation” (Women & Performance, 2008).
